APOGEE FLN Device Commander

Complete the following procedures as needed.

Command Subpoints
  • You want to command the current value of a subpoint that appears across multiple devices and applications.
  • System Manager is in Engineering mode and you have selected the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
  1. Select Project > Field Networks and then navigate to a network, panel, or device, or drag-and-drop multiple devices into the Selected TECs pane.
  • The FLN devices and their children from the network, panel, or device display in the Selected TECs pane in the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. From the Application dropdown menu, select the application number whose subpoint you want to release.
  • In the Applicable TEC pane, the devices associated with the application display.
  1. From the Subpoint dropdown menu, select the subpoint you want to release.
  1. In the Value field, type the desired current value, and then go to Step 7.
  1. If it is a BACnet subpoint, you can do one or more of the following:
  • Select the Set Value radial button to change the current value of the BACnet subpoint,
  • Select the Set Initial Value, to change the initial value of the BACnet subpoint,
  • Change the subpoint Priority, by selecting a priority from the drop-down menu.
  1. Click the Execute button.
  • The Command Summary dialog box displays.
  1. (Optional) Click View Log to view and save the devices and subpoint status.
  1. Click Close.
  • The Command Results displays a log of point commands that were issued since the last time the log was cleared.
Release Subpoints
  • You want to release a subpoint that appears across multiple devices and applications.
  • System Manager is in Engineering mode and you have selected the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View
  1. Select Project > Field Networks and then navigate to a network, panel, or device, or drag-and-drop multiple devices into the Selected TECs pane.
  • The FLN devices and their children from the network, panel, or device display in the Selected TECs pane in the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. From the Application dropdown menu, select the application number whose subpoints you want to release.
  • In the Applicable TEC pane, the devices associated with the application displays.
  1. From the Subpoint dropdown menu, select the subpoint you want to release.
  1. Click the Execute button.
  • The Command Summary dialog box displays.
  1. (Optional) Click View Log to view and save the devices and subpoint status.
  1. Click Close.
  • The Command Results displays a log of point commands that were issued since the last time the log was cleared.
Set the Command Priority for a BACnet Subpoint
  • You want to command the priority of a BACnet subpoint that appears across multiple devices and applications.
  • System Manager is in Engineering mode and you have selected the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
  1. Select Project > Field Networks and then navigate to a network, panel, or device, or drag-and-drop multiple devices into the Selected TECs pane.
  • The FLN devices and their children from the network, panel, or device display in the Selected TECs pane in the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. From the Application dropdown menu, select the application number whose subpoint you want to release.
  • In the Applicable TEC pane, the devices associated with the application display.
  1. From the Subpoint dropdown menu, select the subpoint whose priority you want to change.
  1. From the Priority drop-down menu, select a priority.
  1. Click the Execute button.
  • The Command Summary dialog box displays.
  1. (Optional) Click View Log to view and save the devices and subpoint status.
  1. Click Close.
  • The Command Results pane displays the devices, the commanded subpoints, and their current status.
Set the Initial Value for a BACnet Subpoint
  • You want to set the initial value of a subpoint that appears across multiple devices and applications.
  • You want to command the initial value for one or more BACnet subpoints.
  • System Manager is in Engineering mode and you have selected the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
  1. Select Project > Field Networks and then navigate to a network, panel, or device, or drag-and-drop multiple devices into the Selected TECs pane.
  • The FLN devices and their children from the network, panel, or device display in the Selected TECs pane in the FLN Device Commander tab.
  1. From the Application dropdown menu, select the application number whose subpoints initial value you want to set.
  • In the Applicable TEC pane, the devices associated with the application display.
  1. From the Subpoint dropdown menu, select the subpoint whose initial value you want to change.
  1. Select the Set Initial Value radial button, to change the initial value of the BACnet subpoint.
  1. In the Value field, type the desired initial value.
  1. Click the Execute button.
  • The Command Summary dialog box displays.
  1. (Optional) Click View Log to view and save the devices and subpoint status.
  1. Click Close.
  • The Command Results displays a log of point commands that were issued since the last time the log was cleared.
