Create APOGEE P2 Offline Trend Definitions
You want to create one or more (bulk) APOGEE offline trends and display the latest records from the trend log objects.
For background information, see the reference section.
Prequisites:
- COV Trend Definition: You have determined whether or not you want to define a Trend COV Limit for precise sampling.
- COV Trend Definition: You know how much trend data to store.
- Interval Trend Definition: You know how often you want to sample the point.
- You have determined the number of panel buffers needed.
- You have determined whether or not you want Desigo CC to upload trend data when the panel buffer is full.
Complete the following procedures in order as needed.
Adding a Single APOGEE P2 Point to the Trend Viewer
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- In System Browser, select Management View.
- Select Project > Field Networks > [network type] > [device] > Points
- The point name is displayed in the Apogee Trend tab.
- Proceed to Creating APOGEE P2 Offline Trend Definitions below.
Adding Multiple APOGEE P2 Points to the Trend Viewer
NOTE: You can bulk
- In System Browser, select Management View.
- Navigate to Project > Field Networks > [network type] > [hardware name] > Points.
- Select the P2 points you want to trend and from the Related Items pane, select New Trend. The Trend displays in the Secondary pane.
- From the toolbar, click Edit Trend .
- Select the points you want to include the bulk trend, and then right-click on the points, and select Create Trend.
NOTE: TEC subpoints can be selected for bulk trending; however, you cannot mix subpoint and regular points in a bulk trend.
- The Trend Definitions pane displays.
- Proceed to Creating APOGEE P2 Offline Trend Definitions below.
Creating APOGEE P2 Trend Definitions
- You have added one or more points to the Apogee Trend or Trend View.
- To Create a Change-of-Value Trend Definition:
a. If you are creating a trend definition for a point: In the Trend Definitions section, click New COV.
If you are creating a trend definition for a TEC subpoint: In the Trend Definitions section, click the drop-down arrow and select the desired subpoint, and then click New COV.
An italicized entry for the new COV trend definition displays in the Trend Definitions section.
b. In the Trend COV Limit section, specify the amount of change an analog point can encounter before the panel collects and reports the change.
To use the pre-established value of the point COV limit, select Use Point COV Limit.
To specify a custom value, select User Special Trend COV Limit and type a number for the limit.
NOTE: This section is only active if you have an analog point selected.
- To Create a Trend Interval Trend Definition:
a. If you are creating a trend definition for a point: In the Trend Definition section, click New Interval.
If you are creating a trend definition for a TEC subpoint: In the Trend Definition section, click the drop-down arrow and select the desired subpoint, and then click New Interval.
An italicized entry for the new interval trend definition displays in the Trend Definitions section.
b. In the Trend Sampling Interval section, specify the time interval for collecting samples. You can select one of the default sampling intervals, or you can enter a custom sampling interval by typing in the Custom field a number greater than zero, and then clicking the drop-down menu to select Min (Minutes) or Hr (Hours).
NOTE: You are prevented from selecting an interval that is already defined for this point in another trend definition.
- In the Panel Buffer section, complete the following:
- Panel Buffer Size: Define the number of samples you want the field panel to store for the point in trend. The number cannot be less than five, but must be less than or equal to the number in Maximum Samples Available field. By default, this is set to 200. If desired, type a number to change the value.
- Maximum Samples Available: This read-only field displays the maximum number you can enter into the Panel Buffer Size field. The Maximum Samples Available field displays a number greater than 5 and less than 2500, representing the maximum number of samples a field panel can store for the point in trend. When there is enough memory at the field panel, the Maximum Samples Available field displays 2500.
- Enable Panel “Buffer Full” Notification at: When checked, the Desigo CC software is notified when the trend buffer for the definition has reached the specified percentage full, and then the collection occurs. By default, when checked, this is set to 80%. If desired, type a number to change the value.
- (Optional) If desired, you can configure trending based on a trigger point in the Conditional Trend section by checking the Enabled box, and then doing one of the following:
- If you are using a point: Drag the desired point from System Browser onto the Trigger Point field.
- If you are using a TEC subpoint: Click the TEC name that displays above the Save icon to populate the Extended Operation tab with all the subpoints. From the Extended Operation tab, drag the desired subpoint onto the Trigger Point field.
NOTE: Only Apogee points can be used as trigger points.
- When the selected trigger point is active, the trended data point starts to trend.
- (Optional) If desired, click the Make Default button to make the current values and settings in the Panel Buffer and Conditional Trend sections the default values for all succeeding trend definitions. Defaults are user-specific.
- Do one of the following:
- For a single point trend definition creation: In the Apogee Trend tab, click Save to save the trend definition.
- For bulk trend creation: In the Secondary Pane, click Start Creation . The Bulk Operation Details displays information about selected, created, and failed trend logs. Click OK to close the pane. Click Copy, to copy the information to Notepad.
- In the Trend Definitions section, the italicized entry for the new interval definition changes to regular text, indicating that it has been saved.
