Steps:
1 – Run the Log Report
- Select Start > All Programs > [Company] > Desigo CC > Tools > Trace Viewer.
- In the Settings tab, Priorities section, check the WARNING and INFO boxes.
- NOTE: Checking DEBUG will affect Trace Log Viewer performance. Selecting DEBUG should be done selectively (for example, upon recommendation from Field Support).
- Unless you have a custom log file that you want to use, accept the default scan file (log file), PVSS_II.log.
- In the Modules section, select the components you want to troubleshot.
- Click the Traces – PVSS_II.log tab.
- Depending on your module selections, you may see traces immediately in the Trace Viewer. For other modules, such as Schedules, you may need to select the schedule object in System Browser that is producing errors before Trace Viewer starts logging data about it.
- Navigate to the location of the log file—[Installation Drive]:\[Installation Folder]\[Project Name]\log\PVSS_II.log.
- Copy the file, and then send it to Technical Support so that they can help you troubleshoot the problems.
2 – Analyze the Log Report
- Click Pause tracing .
- Updating in the Information window is paused. However, the data continues to be logged in the background. Once pause is de-selected, any new information will display in the window.
- Scroll to the desired location to analyze the corresponding message.
- Click Resume file reading to display the most recent data in the Information window or click Pause tracing to pause the most recent data. Alternatively, click Stop tracing to stop data logging and click Resume tracing to resume data logging.
NOTE: Click Refresh from file to update the data also from the native PVSS_II.Log file. If you need to send information, select the range and press CTRL+C. Copy the selected information in a document or mail message by pressing CTRL+V.
3 – Search for Information
- Select the Traces tab.
- Select Edit > Find.
- The Find dialog box opens.
- Enter the desired search term in the text field.
- Click Next.
- The data entry found first is displayed.
- Click Next if you want to find more data entries.
4 – Erase the Log File
- Click Delete .
- The displayed contents are deleted.
- Click Refresh from file (incl. PVSS Trace log data) or Resume file reading (restart GMS data logging) to display information again.
5 – Close the Log Report
- Click Stop tracing .
- Data logging is stopped.
- Close Trace Log Viewer.
NOTE: Data logging starts immediately after launching the Trace Log Viewer. It assumes the last set trace channels.
