Creating and Configuring Operating Procedure Steps for Notifications
Scenario: You want to configure the Notification operating procedure steps.
Reference: For background information, see the reference section.
Workflow diagram:
Prerequisites:
- System Manager is in Engineering mode.
- System Browser is in Management View.
- You have created and configured an operating procedure template. For more information, see Configuring Operating Procedures for Assisted Treatment.
Steps:
1 – Create the Notification Incident Step
- Select Project > System Settings > Operating Procedures > [operating procedure template].
- The Operating Procedures tab displays.
- Click New and select New Step Notification Incident.
- The Create New Object dialog box displays.
- Enter a name for the step.
- Click OK.
- The Notification incident step is created.
2 – Configure the General Settings for the Step
- Select Project > System Settings > Operating Procedures > [operating procedure template].
- The Operating Procedures tab displays.
- Open the General Settings expander.
- The execution order displays by default and cannot be edited.
NOTE: The execution order of a step depends on the order in which it is associated with an Operating Procedure (the order in the System Browser).
- Do the following:
a. From the Execution Mode drop-down list, select the mode of step execution.
b. From the Repeatable drop-down list, specify whether the step must be repeated.
c. From the Mandatory drop-down list, specify whether the step is mandatory.
d. (Optional) In the Notes section, enter comments.
3 – Configure the Additional Settings for the Step
- Select Project > System Settings > Operating Procedures > [operating procedure template].
- The Operating Procedures tab displays.
- Open the Additional Settings expander.
- From System Browser, drag an incident template, message template, or live announcement template node to the Link section.
NOTE: When an incident template is linked to the step, the associated incident is initiated during the operating procedure execution. When a message template or live announcement template is linked, the associated message or live announcement is added to the ad hoc incident and the ad hoc incident is initiated during the operating procedure execution.
- Open the Triggers expander and the Events expander.
- Click Add to define the event conditions for the conditional execution of the step by performing the following procedure:
a. In the Scope/Target field, assign the scope.
NOTE: The step is triggered only if the event source is included in the specified scope. To assign a scope, you must define a scope with the management station scope, and thereafter, drag and drop the defined Scope from the System Browser to the Scope/Target field. Setting the scope to All means that no filtering on scopes can be done. For more information, see Scopes.
b. From the Category drop-down list, select the event category.
NOTE: Select All if filtering by category is not required. If a category is set, then the user must define the filtering operator, choosing from Equal, Not Equal and so on.
c. From the Discipline drop-down list, select the discipline of the event.
d. From the Subdiscipline drop-down list, select the subdiscipline.
NOTE: For each discipline, there is a list of corresponding sub disciplines.
e. From the Type drop-down list, select the type of the event.
f. From the Subtype drop-down list, select the corresponding subtype.
NOTE: For each type of the event, there is a list of corresponding subtypes.
g. From the In / Out drop-down list, select whether the step is triggered by incoming or closed events or both.
- Click Save .
- The Notification incident step is created and configured.
